So, as soon as it came in the mail, I opened it. I'll admit, then I kind of groaned, discovering it is a novel in verse. And, it is historical fiction. Which, to me, is two strikes against it.
But reading it was entirely groan-free. In fact, it had be me gasping. At one point, I read a beautiful line that had me picturing a moment that I held my breath until it passed. Then when I tried to read on, I had to stop and share that moment with someone, anyone. I walked into the next room and read it aloud to my husband who nodded solemnly in the wake of the power.
Three Rivers Rising gives you that and much more. But don't take my word. Enter here for my giveaway! That's right. A signed ARC of Three Rivers Rising in your hands before the book is released.

Amazing how we can go for different things in a book -- when I knew Three Rivers Rising was historical fiction AND a novel in verse, I was jumping up and down with excitement! And the book was everything I expected and dreamed it would be. I've read it twice now, and CAN NOT WAIT to own my own copy. Thanks for hosting the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteIrene, I know!! As Split gets ready to come out and as I curate this reading series, I'm learning more and more how there is a book for every person and not every book is for everyone. However, Three Rivers is making me a convert! You're entered, BTW.
ReplyDeleteAlways interested in new YA literature. I even have a few young readers in my circle who might be great targets for the book as they make the jump from the Newberry's (which are heavy in historical fiction) to the YA room. I'll have to check it out when it officially hits print.
ReplyDeleteSwati, I hear your book is pretty amazing too! I tried to swipe it from Jame's house, but she kept my keys until I gave her the book back. She also wouldn't let me take the ARC of her book--one of her children, yes; her ARC, no. So please throw my name in the hat for your giveaway! Thanks!

Thanks for the opportunity!
I have my own historical novel-in-verse on submission right now. A friend shared Jame's story with me, and I've been following her ever since. She's been kind enough to answer my questions about submission and verse novels, which is golden.
ReplyDeleteSO want to read this one.
I am adding you to my Blogger account, though I don't see a follower button.
